"Tormenta en la playa" (Storm on the beach) is a piece for a string quartet written by Irene Sánchez. It was premiered at the Sala Mompou of the SGAE (Barcelona) on May 27, 2020. Its creation was perceived from a literary point of view. In the same way that in literature a landscape is much more than a simple stage (but it can also be a tool to capture the emotions of a character) the melodic lines of this piece are a representation of sea breeze, of water currents, of feet stepping on the sand... and of a storm. Thereby, the sound recreates in the listener's mind a scenario that symbolizes the wander that is life for each one of us and all the storms we must face.
